Want of Wit

As you may have wondered -- though, most likely, not -- Vernam is on hiatus. "Hmm . . . I wonder what he's on?" So now you know: Hiatus, the medicinal kind. Most likely, you'll not hear from Cipherdom again in 2004. (That came out kind of Nixonian, though I didn't mean it that way.) If you do hear from me, it will mean there's a news event so disconcerting that I can't keep quiet. Which does tend to happen, in both senses. Which none of us wants to happen, in both senses. I'll probably be active, however, over in Gazintas. 'Til then, joy be with you all.

I wait with baited breath for VC to opine on the Dan Rather forged memo scandal that would appear to support the thesis that the media is liberal.

Also, and after some sobering thought, I would love to hear VC's take on why Bush won.

I came over here to see what Vern had to say about Cheney setting the stage for a war with Iran on Day 1 (well, actually day -0.125) of the second term. Not only do I find silence from my favorite midWestern oracle, I find I'm not even the first in line to rib him about his silence.

I'd come up with some appropriate metaphor, but unfortunately I'm more literal than Ted Kennedy.
