I was about to lament how this week's ever-hokey "West Wing" episode was the only place during this election week where anyone could see a debate of the Israel-Palestine conflict that is the primary subtext of our war with terror. In case you hadn't heard, video from an ABC affiliate's story on the 101st Airborne's arrival at the Al-Qaqaa munitions dump appears to have confirmed the allegation that Bush's Administration failed to secure the site. The tape shows boxes, sealed by UN inspectors, full of what experts are confirming is HMX powder. Here's a helpful cheat sheet if you're wondering exactly what the stuff is: HMX stands for High Melting Explosive. Have a nice day.
Oh, and the FBI is investigating whether Halliburton's ripped us off for another $5 billion or so.

First, Bush tried ignoring the weapons story. Then he tried blaming it on the media. Next, he claimed Kerry had criticized the troops (when he did nothing of the sort; the WHOLE POINT is that the explosives are probably being used against our troops) on the same day Bush's own surrogate (Giuliani) very explicitly _blamed it on the troops_. I wonder what today's GOP spin will be.
As for the Halliburton story, it's common knowledge that FBI director Robert Mueller is on my speed dial and does Vernam's bidding whenever called upon to support the Cipherdom propaganda juggernaut.
