Stan Loh <sloh at MI-2.biz>
Dear Paul:
(1) Many thanks for your msg (ATTACHMENT I).
I am delighted to know that you enjoy reading our list distributions.
(2) My wholehearted congratulations to your new full time tenure at the
Canakkale Onsekiz Mart University in Turkey.
I am particularly happy to know that your university has the Japanese
Department and teaches Japanese language.
> BTW, the University of Havana in Cuba also has the Japanese Department created
> with a fund from the Japanese government.
I. Inexpensive Laptop:
(3) Pls read Stan’s msg below in ATTACHMENT II.
> Dear Stan:
>
> Many thanks for your msg.
>
This Ink-PC laptop is now priced from US$180 — see also the following web
sites;
> <http://www.col.org/news/connections/html/0602.htm#EdTech>
> And
> <http://www.ink.mi-2.biz/>
Pls visit my previous list distribution about this subject;
> (12/16/05) Report on my attendance to the WSIS in Tunis, Tunisia (Par 3-last)

Pls then download a PowerPoint slide presentation of this remarkable laptop
at this web site, which Stan sent to me before.

II. Possible Creation of GUS/Turkey:
(4) I am very delighted to hear of your strong interest in our GUS project.
Pls visit the following previous list distribution which described steps how
to create a GUS in developing countries;
Concept Paper
on
the Creation of Global University System (GUS)
in Ghana and later in Countries of ECOWAS
http://makeashorterlink.com/?F20323F2D
This was prepared for the meeting of the Director-General of Kofi Annan
Center in Ghana with the high official of the ECOWAS — with my hope that
each of the ECOWAS would create their GUS.
(5) I greatly appreciate your cordial invitation to your university.
My visit may be possible and it could coincide with your international
conference on “Information, Society, Man and English/American Literature” at
your university.
I would suggest that you compose a concept paper for this event together
with the creation of GUS/Turkey for fund raising.
You may then ask the fund to Japan Foundation or some of funding sources
(particularly the Japanese ones) listed in the following web site;
> USEFUL INTERNET SITES FOR GRANTSEEKERS
> http://makeashorterlink.com/?U24936ACB
Pls feel free to send me your first draft so that we can work on it
together.
(6) This would be a very exciting project and I look forward to receiving
your next response soon.
Best, Tak
