Dear Patricia:

(1) Many thanks for your msgs (ATTACHMENT I to IV) -- especially ATTACHEMENT
IV with your kind words.

> Dear Jose:
> Many thanks for your excellent translations of her msgs in spite of your very
> busy schedules.

(2) I am very delighted to learn that you have now a hard copy of our book
³Global Peace Through The Global University System,² -- which entire
contents can also be retrieved at;
http://www.friends-partners.org/GLOSAS/Global_University/Global%20University
%20System/UNESCO_Chair_Book/Bk_outline-D13.html

(3) I sent it to you upon your request (ATTACHMENT I and II).

(4) Your request made us realize the necessity of the second printing of our
book so that we can distribute it to our colleagues in under-served
developing countries who cannot afford its payment.

Since then, we have been working hard to raise fund for this second printing
‹ we have so far received a positive response to evaluate our request from a
prominent philanthropic foundation ‹ pls cross all of your fingers!!

(5) In a sense, your request was a very excellent and valuable suggestion
for us to serve more and better to our colleagues.

Therefore, the copy of the book you received was rather a small token of our
appreciation to your suggestion. Thank you very much, indeed!!

(6) Lastly, my wife, Hisae, and I enjoyed our attendance at the roundtable
discussion on ³The Virtual University and the Usage of New Educational
Technologies² at the International University Book Fair at the University of
Veracruz in Xalapa, Mexico from September 27 to October 1st of the last year
‹ where we met.

Hope to see you again sometime in the near future.

Keep in touch.

Best, Tak

ATTACHMENT II
(English translation of ATTACHMENT I by Jose Amador, October 4, 2003)

Dear Mr. Utsumi:

Yesterday afternoon I attended to your very interesting
lecture at the Universidad Veracruzana. I firmly believe that
your beautiful project will give successful fruits. I feel
myself honored with the opportunity to listen your speech. I
also believe that your personal way to see the world and your
project seems incredible, may many decision-makers had your
human nature and values to undertake projects of this, or
maybe different nature.

I was filled of sadness with the attitude of the other
lecturers about the Global University project, and I believe
that many people lack much of the needed faith and positive
attitude about this project. There are many places in Mexico
where the information does not get to, as there are no
libraries or books where students and teachers can go and
read, besides of the lack of infrastructure and computers to
have access to the Internet. This is a serious problem because
I am sure (without having firm figures) that there are many
persons who are avid of information and lack access to it, and
they cannot go elsewhere to obtain the information they need.

I work in the library at the Institute of Ecology, A.C. and
sometimes there arrive students and teachers from different
places, not only from elsewhere in the country, but also from
the very state of Veracruz asking for basic information, as in
the places where they work there is absolutely nothing; there
is a teacher from Puebla that comes very often for
bibliography as in the higher school where he teaches there
are no books!

I would like to know if it would be possible to obtain one of
your books as a donation for the library where I work; it will
be (I am sure) very will often read by the researchers, post
degree students and other users.

Affectionately,

THANKS A THOUSAND TIMES !!! from Mexico

Dear Dr. Utsumi

This message is meant to thank you infinitely for your book, which I
have received recently. I hope that your project marches ahead
successfully. I think that with you anything can be achieved, because
in the short period elapsed since I met you, I have realized you are
a very positive person, and the most important, with a great heart.
