(1) In the evening of March 26th (Friday), Larry Gell kindly invited me to
attend the People's Republic of Bangladesh reception on the occasion of the
"Independence and National Day" at the Turkish Centre, 821 UN Plaza in
Manhattan.
I had an honor to meet with the UN Ambassador and Consulate General of
Bangladesh and also many UN Ambassadors and dignitaries.
I gave a copy of our book ³Global Peace Through The Global University
System² to the UN Ambassador of Bangladesh, -- which entire content can be

Dear Myron and Kim:
(2) I recently sent to you a copy of the book as a small token of our
appreciation for your kind arrangement to get the NSF fund for our American
colleagues to attend our workshop held at the University of Tampere,
Finland, in the summer of 1999, which initiated our Global University System
project.

(3) At the Bangladesh reception, I also met with your friend, Mr. John
Negroponte, the UN Ambassador of the US, and gave one copy of our book. He
seemed very much impressed with it, because of many greetings from Dr.
Ahtisaari, the former president of Finland, Education Commissioner of the
European Commission, and former Director Generals of UNESCO and ITU, present
DG of ITU and ILO, etc. He then asked my business card to call me later to
discuss on it.
> I mentioned to him of your lunch with him, me and Ben at Cosmos club on March
> 3 of 2000. I also mentioned of my meeting with his predecessor at McGraw-Hill
> Company many years ago. I asked him to mention of our book and project to his
> brother at Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
When you will talk (or meet) with him next time, pls convey him my best
personal regards ‹ including your kind arrangement of our trip to Colombia
for the possible distance education on peace-keeping for the military
personnel in Bogota.
(4) You may also show our book to Senator Conrad Burns, and tell him that
the building with his name, Burns Telecommunications Center, at Montana
State University in Bozeman is the same place where I did my thesis research
on coal carbonization/liquefaction for my MS degree in Chemical Engineering.
