(1) I am sorry to say that I cannot attend your monthly seminar on
"Computer, Man and Society" at Columbia University on 2/20th to continue my
presentation on our Amazon project.
This is because, this afternoon, I received a cordial invitation from
Claudio Menezes of UNESCO and Eng. Melchor Gil Morell, Vice-Minister,
Ministry of Informatics and Communication of Cuban government for my
presentation of our Amazon project at their "Latin American and Caribbean
Symposium on Education, Science and Culture in the Information Society" in
Havana, Cuba, 18 to 21 of Febrary, 2002.

I will leave for Havana on 2/17th and be back NYC on 2/23rd.
Dear Yoko:
(2) I am awfully sorry I cannot meet with you while you will be in the town
from 2/20th to 2/22nd.
Mrs. Utsumi and I regret that we cannot have a lunch with you.
I wish you a very good luck to your organizing a large conference (1,000
attendees) of iEARN in Japan in 2003.
You are making a substantial contribution to Japanese K-12 education. Keep
up your good work!!
