Dear Prof. Neugroschl:

of;

At your Columbia University monthly seminar on "Computer, Man and Society."

Dear E-Colleagues (particularly those in the vicinity of New York City
area):

(2) Prof. Neugroschl suggested that I should solicit any interested people
who may attend this seminar.

Should you be interested, pls inform him ASAP, so that he can arrange the
number of plates at the dinner table and the number of chairs in our semina=
r
room.

> Date: January 23, 2002
> Cocktail: From 5:00 pm
> Dinner: From 6:00 pm
> Seminar: From 7:00 pm to about 9:00 pm
> Place: Faculty House at 400 West 117th Street, New York, NY
> Title of seminar: Planning and Building the Future for "Invisible (?)
> Humanity" A Pilot Project in the Amazon Rain Forest"

(3) There will also be the presentation by

SIDNEY M. GREENFIELD, Professor Emeritus, University of Wisconsin
(Anthropology and Sociology); Co-chair, University Seminar on Brazil, and
Associate in the Seminar on Religion, on his experiences in Brazil for the
past many years.

Dear Mr. Katoh:

(4) It was my great pleasure to have met with you the other day and I thank
you for your lunch.

If you have not finished your report on the e-learning in the US to the
automobile industry association in Japan, you may attend this seminar to
include it in your report.

Since you are also working with PBS/Channel 13 on education, this may be of
some added interest to you.

Dear Mr. Toyama:

(5) It was my great pleasure to have met you with Prof. David Levy of McGil=
l
University in Montreal, Canada the other day =8B BTW, since then, he is
working on our new English as a Second Language (ESL) program, even
including the new cutting-edge technologies of Sandra=B9s web DVD and Bob
Stein=B9s e-book, etc. -- both of which were demonstrated at this seminar
almost a year ago.

As for content development, David will include some global business gaming
in distributed mode with laptop and via broadband wireless Internet, =8B very
interesting project, indeed, as coming close to my long-standing dream of
Globally Collaborative Environmental Peace Gaming scheme. According to him=
,
Apple indicated their strong interest =8B incidentally, I am already using
Apple=B9s wireless ibook laptop at 10 Mbps!! It is a very nice unit, and I
will bring it to this seminar.

Since Columbia University is your alma mater, I think you can find the way
to come to the Faculty House.

Best, Tak
