Dear Colleages,
I've been named to the panel on organizations for the DARPA 100-year
Starship Study(TM) Public Symposium at the end of September in Orlando. Ther
focus of my panel is how to create a spacefaring organization that will last
much longer than an individual life and can organize a global effort costing
maybe $20T over that time to make us an interstellar civilization. Project
Icarus has been one useful online sourse, but can anyone recommend others,
online or in print, that bear on this? The question is not how to build a
near-lightspeed starship (the engineers have their own panels for that) but how
to organize a long-term effort for a project that, in some ways, is more like
a religion than a standard space program.
Thanks,
 Matt Bille
