My take was the first cylindrical object about a foot long that was thrown overboard was the ever-present destruct charge the Russkies like to put in almost all their spacecraft.
The second spherical apparatus was likely the toxic fuel tanks. The recovery ship was small so they were tossed as a precaution. I am surprised this operation was not done with full gas mask protection like earlier.
It was also funny watching the Russian tech working on the spaceplane wearing only his skivies.
I love the video of the Orion aircraft making a slow pass with feathered outboad engines.

What the hell are they doing at 18 and 20 minutes? Removing toxic propellant tanks and dumping them at sea?
Perhaps, like the Russian reconnaissance satellites, the BOR spaceplanes carried an explosive charge to prevent recovery by another nation if it went astray, and this had to be disposed of after a normal recovery.
