I had wondered about re-naming the "CIS/Chinese" forum in honour of Rex.
One hopes that the meeting will not cease because Rex is no longer around. I would even try to overcome health issues and come along once more!

What a lovely idea. Will you come? I'm not jumping the gun or anything like that but perhaps if something were arranged on a one-off basis to begin with, we could perhaps persuade all the Soviet Sleuths over the pond to come i.e. Messr Vick, Oberg, Siddiqi, Day, et al. I suppose it's best to let things settle but a continuous thread on this forum to add ideas to might be a good place to start. At some point it will reach critical mass and then we can do something very dynamic. I also think as kids' workshops and education played such a big part in Rex's life, we could ask David S. about doing something in that vein. What do people think?

Here’s a suggestion I would make to the BIS governance board and its Fellows.
To honor Rex Hall, why not have a Rex Hall Forum Memorial Lecture series?
That would definitely honor him, his work, and his long-standing efforts to bring forth the most current information on Soviet/Russian/Chinese space doings via symposia.
Just a thought/suggestion.
