[FPSPACE] Maxim Surayev Theme Song

Watching NASA TV of pre-launch activity, I noticed Surayev breaking into
song on three occasions, whilst signing his hotel door, during the walk-out
(accompanied by chants of 'Maxim, Maxim, Maxim' from the crowd) and during
the ascent up to the capsule.

 

He appeared to be singing 'Mama Blue' (?)

 

Can anyone - our Russian colleagues? - shed any light on the background to
this rather unusual activity please?
