 Hey, why aren't a couple of volunteers simulating a stay on
 Phobos?  They would be in immediate radio contact with the
 down-to-Mars people during their 30-day stay, and rendezvous
 with them on the way back. 

 I gather that such a brief separation could be psychologically 
 quite beneficial during a real 520-day mission!
