For many years Popovich led a special commission looking into UFO in the
Soviet Union. Hr nade many comments on this area mainly saying there is no
proof etc but he could not explain some events.
I doubt the use of the nickname Aggressor. He did test the gun but I doubt
if Skylab was even on the horizon as a target. It sounds as if they were
going to be solar pirates. There were soviet fears the the US Military might
target space stations in the event of war with unmanned satellites exploding
near space assets. The Americans had the same fears of the Soviets. The gun
was a reaction flown once , fired once and discarded,
Popovich was a warm generous person. I once shared a car with him where he
sang Russian and Ukrainian songs for a couple of hours and telling stories.
Every public figure some story can be told.
