[FPSPACE] 52 years ago, a dog entered the Final Frontier...

Fifty-two years ago on November 3, 1957, only the second satellite was lofted into space by the Soviet Union.

 

Unlike their first one, this Earth circling vessel named Sputnik 2 was much bigger and carried a passenger:  A dog named Laika.
