Hi Doug -

Thanks for the citations. I've responded to your
note to the meteorite list, and will repost that
response here later.

"Each of these scientists believes this because
they have woven a scenario on how they think it
went down and these are the deductions from their
interpretations of their theories. There is
no absolute answers knowable yet, just a lot of
foam trials on the sea."

This is roughly 20 years since the Chicxulub
crater was located, and this lack of essential
answers is one of the reason Morrison and Weiler
need to be relieved.

No money = no research, and this is a vital issue.
This lack of impact research funding goes straight
across the board, including more recent cometary impacts.
The impact mega-tsunami and the holocene start comet impact
researchers are running on very little, usually money outside of
Weiler and Morrison's control. Morrison's
opposition to cometary impact is well known,
and the funding bias is obvious.

The other reason to relieve Weiler and Morrison
is that NASA's NEO detection budget will be
around $3.5 million again this year, out of a NASA
budget of $18,700 million.

If they won't take responsibility, we need people
in their positions who will.
