[FPSPACE] Neil Armstrong mystery..redux

Greetings Everyone.

 

With the help of fellow fpspacer Mark Kramer, it appears that the photo in
the "We Came in Peace" booklet is not from the lunar surface.  I sent Mark a
PDF of the page with the photograph on, and he spotted that the footpad in
the photograph was not covered in gold foil.  The craft on the surface of
the Moon did have this.  

 

That means that the photograph (remarkable in its similarity to other actual
lunar images) was taken during a training episode.  I also personally
noticed that it had two "light glint" sources on the helmet, which did raise
a question.  But that caused me to post a inquiry on fpspace.

 

So now the mystery is solved.
