It is better not to re-write books, when there is no reason. We all "prefer to believe" according to our biases, however in this case, multiple sources cite multiple events leading to Sputnik-1 beginning at the end of 1956, not withstanding what Yangel or Ivanovsky said. By the way, Korolev and many of his associates could not care less about "delivering nuclear charge", all they cared about was space exploration. So they designed R-7 accordingly :) I am wondering if this is the case for North Korean engineers too? Imagine you was unlucky enough to be born in North Korea, but then you fortunes had reversed with the involvement into space program :)
