Another piece here about the satellite collision between Cosmos and Iridium

http://www.satnews.com/cgi-bin/story.cgi?number=419757345

At the same there are rumours that Russia is claiming a glancing blow rather
than full blown collision...resulting in a far lower debris count.

Still no debris listed at Spacetrack. I can understand a reluctance to tag a
particular piece of debris with either the cosmos or iridium prefix , as
there may be some confusion over which is which , but would it not be in the
interest of other operators to know where the clouds are and to what extent
they have dispersed ?

Both satellites are still listed as one object ( ie two separate sats ) and
seem to have seen little by way of variation in orbit.

Anyone know what really happened?

Confused !!!!!!!!!

John
