[FPSPACE] Griffin on Ares 1/Ares 5 versus Direct

He avoids the issue:

and instead sets up a false comparison. Not only was the Direct comparison avoided, I assume that Griffin's comparison is of clustered EELVs with the 6 man capsule instead of the original 3 to 4 man capsule for use with the single cores.

Of course, in the real world the Ares 1 combustion oscillations are bad enough to 
give the Orion crew brain damage, in other words a 100% percent failure rate. 
But then that's something that Thiokol is trying to avoid having to face up to after some $3 billion has been wasted on Ares 1. 

It's way past time to cut our losses with this dog before they get far far worse.
Since President Obama is going to Florida tomorrow, he may have to be ready to make a public statement on the Ares 1/ Ares 5 or Direct decision by then.
