Looks it is right. The official history of NIIKhimmash does describe a
series of tests of LK propulsion units and engines for N1, but there is no
mention of drop or landing tests of the LK itself, therefore it is well
possible these tests were conducted elsewhere. Possibly, at aviation
industry installations?
