[FPSPACE] A bilingual question

As I see it, 'Block' in 'Block D' rather points to the 'trade name' of RSC
Energia's upper stage (two words - BLOK D in Russian) than tries to
translate the combination (in which case 'Stage D' would be probably OK...
if not consider the fact that according to Russian formal terminology
requirements, STUPEN', 'stage' is not equivalent to the English meaning of
'stage' that would be more accurately translated as 'rocket block' or
'booster'). It is exactly the same situation with BLOK E and others.

Speaking of translating Russian astronautics words into English, I have
always wondered why "blok" is usually translated as "block", which to me
means next to nothing, when it clearly means "stage" of a rocket or missile.
