Dmitry, Asif, others, all good points, however I think "article" is a better
translation, since word "product" in modern English has strong commercial
and promotional connotation. It is the term, which corporations would use in
their PR press releases. In the meantime, NASA or US Air Force, when they
want to obscure the exact purpose of the vehicle or a weapon would always
call it "test article." For example, during the STS-8 mission, Space Shuttle
Challenger was carrying PFTA, Payload Flight Test Article.
