Yes, let us consider these grand projects. All of course NOT at tax payer
expense.
Those who want to explore the stars or examine the planets should do so on
their own dime/peso/lira/ruble.

My co-blogger Ralph Buttigieg posted a wonderful article
concerning past studies of a possible manned expeditions to Venus.

People have been debating whether the next goal for human space exploration
should be a return to the Moon or an expedition to Mars for decades. In more
recent times there has been serious consideration of another destination,
the Near Earth Asteroids. In my view we are forgetting another alternative:
Venus.
