Good Afternoon
I think there were many accusations that leonov's walk was faked in 1965.
There was a famous article showing what he thought was wires holding him.
This was in part due to a mixture of real TV film being shown and some
simulations. All space efforts seem to be subject to such speculation.

On the day of the EVA the UK's commercial Channel Four evening news was
describing the event with phrases like "if it can be believed", although not
once did they provide any evidence to suggest that the EVA did not take
place as reported by the Chinese.
I guess it's more "fun" to assume that the Chinese fake everything rather
than accept their successes. There were similar mindsets in the 1950s
through to the 1970s concerning the Soviet space programme.
People have too much time on their hands!
