Through the live broadcast of the mission, tens of millions of Chinese saw, 
at around 4:40 p.m. (Beijing Time) on Sept. 27, Zhai Zhigang, strenuously 
open the hatch of Shenzhou-7.

This was covered in some detail in one of the flight briefings.
it came as a bit of a surprise just how difficult it was to open the hatch 
prior to EVA and it is something that engineers are to study.
