Bottom line:

Easterbrook had the temerity to use Clube and Napier's injection model, and not Morrison's and Muller's.

So far Morrison's search for Nemesis has resulted in the expenditure of tens of millions of dollars of taxpayers' money with nothing to show for it. If that money had of been available to the geologists, we would not be having this discussion right now

Well, let's see. Shoemaker adopted Clube and Napier's injection model shortly before his death, and we would not be having this discussion right now but for his unfortunate auto accident.

You Mars "enthusiasts" would also not have Morrison's bogus comet impact numbers to hide behind.

Aside from Tunguska we had hits at Rupunini and Rio Curaca in the last century, and guess what? They were all comet fragment hits.

The odds of a significant comet fragment hitting the Earth in the next century are about 1. Making a guess, I'd say at leasts one hit in 2022 from SW3, around 5 kt.

Historically, such as it is, the best numbers for the Americas for the last 13,000 years may be found in "Man and Impact in the Americas".

I'm looking forward to Morrison leaving along with Griffin.

I wonder how mad Easterbrook is going to be when he really finds out how bad NASA's performance has been.
