[FPSPACE] Farewell, Arthur C. Clarke

    Arthur C. Clarke (unusual for a non-US person to use that format of
name!) and Patrick Moore were the two authors and catalysts of my 1950s
childhood who caused my interest in & excitement for Astronomy and
Astronautics. 

    I am glad that he made it to 90, and only sorry that he did not
make it to his centenary. In a later decade, Carl Sagan played the same
role in a different way & in partly different media. If only Arthur
could have been given a shuttle or Soyuz trip to ISS. He could have
floated in weightlessness as in his scuba diving!

     It seems that's for a future generation.
