Hi -

We have been given rough numbers by China as to their launch plans for the near future (100 sats over the next 10 years, if I remember correctly) .
The production rate for the CZ 5 is now announced at 12 per year, operational date of 2014.

Undoubtedly, some of the capacity and personnel of the existing CZ 2-3 variants plants will be used to manufacture components for the CZ 5, which will be assembled at the new coastal facility, and launched from the new equatorial launch site.

Besides the CZ 2-3 plant capacity, there are also the CZ 2-3 launch sites.

Will trained personnel simply be relocated?

So the question I have for you is will the CZ 2-3 variants continue in production? If so, at what rate, and for how long? Before my stroke, I used to be able to derive some kind of reasonable estimate of this sort of thing, but no longer, including things like dual payloads.

Opinions, anyone? Any statements by China?
