I think that its likely that the next administration may continue operating the shuttle until the CEV is ready. Why Griffin decided not to use the EELVs and a smaller ship after Columbia is a question that will be re-examined.

Historically, as far as using the Eneriga went, the Polyus scared the hell out of a lot of people .
