Many thanks Brett , Peter ,Geert and Antonin for your response to my
request re Bor - 4
I happened to be researching something totally different when I came across
mention of the craft in my copy of War in Space.
I had always regarded the Bor-4 as a scale demonstrator , but there was
reference in the book to it possibly having a two man crew ( they would have
to have been about a metre tall ! )
I had to smile when I came across this passage too :
" In America a super shuttle has been designed that could take off like a
conventional plane , fly to a high altitude and then , if necessary , boost
itself into orbit - on board would be the Commander in Chief , the President
"
The year was 1986 !
John
