AEROSPACE ENGINEERING SEMINAR: "INDIAN SPACE PROGRAM--FUTURE
PERSPECTIVES" (TOP STORIES)

    At 1 p.m. on Monday, February 4, G. Madhavan Nair, chairman of the
    Indian Space Research Organization, will present a talk in Beckman
    Institute auditorium called "Indian Space Program--Future
    Perspectives." Nair will reflect on the ISRO's achievements over the
    last four decades and discuss how sound infrastructure in India has
    firmly established it in the field of space research, and how the
    country continues to meet the growing national needs in
    telecommunication, television broadcasting, meteorology, and
    management of natural resources and earth observation. He will also
    talk about the future missions planned for India's space program, as
    well as plans to create advanced space-launch vehicles that provide
    low-cost access to outer space.
