Dear Igor & all other cosmonautics fans

    2 all of you a merry Xmas / Channuhak / Eid / Deepavali - & a
happy, healthy, & prosperous 2009!

I do think that the world has learnt from the Great Depression of
October 1929 what sorts of things are counter-productive, & what things
are helpful. So this depression will certainly not last ten years like
that one. That China & India's economic growth figures remain positive
(indeed, higher than South Africa has ever had!) ensure they'll act as
engines of growth helping pull up the rest of the world.

While, as far as Russia's budget is concerned, the oil & other
commodities super-boom is over, gas prices have not fallen all the way
back. And the Kremlin sensibly held back some of those once-off profits
to build up a cushion of foreign reserves. So we can hope that the space
budgets of China & India will continue their incremental growth, while
the Russian, ESA, & Japanese budgets will be back to normal within two
years.

with warmest regards, Keith
