There is much more to this Laika story than is presently known through
currently published materials, both US and Russian.

 

There is the US intelligence side to this story, and that will be discussed
in an article, presently under preparation.

 

The current materials, including from Boris Chertok's recollections in
"Fili-Podlipki-Tyuratam"  will get their correction/rectification from the
new information currently in hand.
