Dear Colleagues,

I'm sending this out the night before, obviously. Not sure when we'll
see another [FPS] digest.

The actual moment of liftoff was 1957 October 04 2228:34 Moscow time.
Subtract 8 hours to get Eastern time in America, so the actual
anniversary will be after 2 in the afternoon.
