Thank you, Sven.

I recall my first memory of Almaz; I was in the 8th grade and a small weekly
publication called "Science News" had a report about a Soviet Space Station
breaking up in orbit. Little did I realize the significance of this station
at the time, but my fascination with the soviet space program was already
"sparked".

In reality, this book will also be a tribute to people like you who
published some of the first great tid-bits about Almaz on the Internet. I think
you'll enjoy this book in particular for it's technical information. I've have
acquired some "seriously stuff" on this program.

David,

Unravelling the mysteries sorrounding the Almaz program is a worthy task for
a space historian.

I can still remember the excitement when in 1974 I picked up the signals
from Salyut 3 and realized it was different from Salyut 1. Little did I realize
then the fascinating story behind OPS and DOS!

Sven
