Your analysis seems a bit short of mentioning the EU, which
for better or for worse is the immediate challenge to Russia.
Should the battle for the Ukraine end up with that former CCP
joining the EU, then either Russia must join too ( as envisaged
by late French president de Gaulle ), or Russian economical and
political independence will be adversely affected.
If any US decisionmakers are lurking on Fpspace, it may be
worthwhile warning them that a European Union stretching not
only to the Urals but as far East as Kamchatka, is poised to
become a very heavy partner to dance with.
Combining Russian nuclear and space-faring expertise with
European economic strength and with a headcount more than
twice that of the US, a Eurasian EU will be a rival even
to Red China.
