Well, there are elections in Russia next year if I am not mistaken, but 
I won't be driving around with a 'Putin's last day' sticker. Looks a bit 
dangerous to me these days.
 From what I understand on my side of the pond, there seems to be at 
least a consensus in Congress to give NASA a workable budget to get some 
kind of a (timid) start on a post shuttle human spaceflight program. But 
it has to be a really sustained effort, I agree.

Btw, Tony Blair is leaving shortly and even in Belgium we have elections 
in 3 months(won't make much difference though)
