Folks,
Dietrich Haeseler tried to post a set of illustrations for you to see as
you can see in the message below. Unfortunately, there is a server
limit of 100 kb on messages, so they did not get through. I have gone
in and edited the three illustrations and reduced them in size and
resolution so they can get through. The labels are still readable so
you should be able to see and understand what he was talking about.
Here is the Almaz-Khrunichev-p100.jpg illustration and thank you
Dietrich for it.
Dave

I do not have the Khrunichev Photobook, but the second volume of the large history books published also now. One graphic on page 100 seems to be the lower of the two Almaz-diagram, see attached scan 'Almaz_Khrunichev-p100.jpg'. The top graphic in the photo book p. 99 seems to be similar, but not equal to the graphic published in Aviatsia i Kosmonavtika, August 1993, p.42, see attached file 'Almaz_AiKAug93.jpg'. Differences appear on the top of the large camera.
A view of the Proton rocket with attached launch escape system SAS is also presented in the vol 2 on page 112, see file 'Proton_Khrunichev-p112.jpg'. This may be the same launcher as the one shown on p. 104 in the photo book.
