TerraSAR-X Launched Successfully

The new German Radar Satellite TerraSAR-X was successfully launched 
from Baikonur  at 04.14 hrs CEST on friday, June 15th, 2007.

Within the first half hour after the launch, first signals were 
picked up by the ground station in Malindi, Kenia; within less than 
two hours, the command link to the spacecraft could be established.
