I am baffled by the large
model held in the hands of what appears to be the instructor or oldest child.
It doesn't resemble anything I recognize as having flown, so I'm guessing
it's a conceptual model or something planned at one time (a nuclear rocket or
manned interplanetary ship come to mind). Anyone recognize the site and/or
the unidentified objects I've mentioned?

I recognize the large model from a soviet-era children's book about "how to"
build model rockets. I can't recall the title, but it is occasionally sold
on EBay by the seller "Maxuta". The model itself is a fantasy futuristic sci-fi
rocket and is well illustrated in the book.
