I think that the suborbital tourism thing is going to be substantially
scrutinized by people in the government.

That may have fall-out of:

a) delay in any test flights (for how long, don't know);

b) calls for regulation of the industry, for safety reasons, and may
actually have that happen;

c) Northrop may back out of buying full controlling interest in Scaled
Comp.;

d)Branson may cut back on his the reported $200 million he invested, or
wishes to invest in the near-space tourism venture;

e) the full investigation into as to why 3 people were killed and
potentially others may show unpleasant things about how the firing tests
were being conducted;

f) if things get really heated, they may shut down the whole spaceshipTwo
thing, but that depends on what investigators find out, how much media
exposure there is, and things of that nature.

OK, if we can get past the problems with people posting or copying news
stories from other sources, we can get down to discussing this terrible
accident.

So, let's take a poll. Will the fatal explosion at Scaled Composites
yesterday...

(a) ...mean the end of Virgin Galactic and suborbital space tourism in
general?

(b) ...be a severe setback, pushing the test program back by at least a
year?

(c) ...draw closer government scrutiny and regulation to private space
efforts that have thus far sneaked by under the radar, and thus cause
investment funds to dry up?

(d) ...be a "bump in the road" that has no permanent affect on NewSpace?

(e) ...cause Northrup-Grummun to abandon its bid to acquire Scaled
Composites and cost Burt Rutan a megabuck "golden parachute"?

(f) ...remind everyone yet again that there is no such thing as a "safe
rocket?"

Vote for one or any combination of above, and discuss.
