Thanks for posting that. There's been some confusion re: the fund;
supposedly, anyone who wants to contribute can simply go to any Bank of America Branch
and say they want to contribute to the Martha Portree's Family Fund, and the
teller will know what to do. In practice, some BOA branches have no clue. Some
want an account number, though that's supposed to be between the bank and the
account owner (not me) for security reasons. I don't know all the details; I've
been focused on other things, such as getting my little girl out of the
hospital.

Samantha left the ICU for the second time last Wednesday, came home on
Friday, and saw the bone doctor today. August 13 is the probable date for the
removal of her casts - these little ones heal fast.

I haven't had time to individually respond to all the expressions of kindness
we've received. Please rest assured, however, that they are very much
appreciated.

"It's like when you're a kid, the first time they tell you that the world's
turning and you just can't quite believe it because everything looks like it's
standing still. I can feel it - the turn of the Earth. The ground beneath our
feet is spinning at a thousand miles an hour, the entire planet is hurtling
around the Sun at sixty-seven thousand miles an hour, and I can feel it. We're
falling through space, you and me. Clinging to the skin of this tiny little
world, and if we let go..." - The Ninth Doctor
