[FPSPACE] ChiComs announced ASAT? Don't think so.

One thing I wonder... is the Chinese ASAT all home-grown, or, if you could take the Chinese ASAT apart, do you think you'd find any technological heritage copied from the minisatellite technology Surrey has sold to China?  I don't mean to criticize Surrey, a great company with only good intentions, but UK export restrictions on satellite technology are much looser than those of the US, and it will be interesting to find out if the Chiense took unfair advantage.

Ah. Well, here in Oak Ridge Tennessee, we call that a *SWAG* (
*scientific* wild-ass guess).

PS. There's been some more analysis on the ASAT which I haven't had
time to write up yet. Suffice to say the booster and payload were
more sophisticated and capable than I first imagined. (Though what I
described would have been perfectly feasible.)
