Back in the 1990s (1992? 1995? 1997?), in a New York Times Sunday magazine
article interview, Alexei Leonov mentioned that when the Voskhod 2 precursor
blew up, the initial reaction of the Russians was that the United States had
smacked it with something, causing it to blow up.

 

Just something to chew on.

 

For example, why would the Soviets, out of the blue sky, suspect that?
