Some may be interested in the first of a two-part article just 
published in _Quest: The History of Spaceflight Quarterly_ magazine 
on the history of the Polyus/Skif-DM program authored by well-known 
Russian space journalist and historian Konstantin Lantratov. The 
article is titled "The 'Star Wars' Which Never Happened" and has 
never been published anywhere -- although it was posted on Vadim 
Lukashevich's excellent www.buran.ru website. There are many details 
on the history of the program which will be new to Western readers. 
There are also a number of TV images of Polyus during fabrication.

The relevant issue is Vol. 14, no. 1 (2007).
