[FPSPACE] COTS - Cover Obscuring Thiokol Solids

Hi -

I see from the dicussion above that a numver of you are at a loss to come up 
with any reason why COTS is being funded.

Right now, VSE is tied to Thiokol entering the medium lift market - given 
the launch merket, why NASA would want to invest in the development of a new 
launcher is one of those questions seldom examined.  Aside from the 
political payoff aspects to the alt.space crowd of COTS, you have to 
consider the large solid technologies needed  for military purposes, and the 
cash flows resulting from the current sales of all military grains.

COTS serves as a distraction.

Perhaps Jnr's space policy is no better than his Iraq policy - the gap in 
ISS servicing is the space equivalent of his exit strategy for Iraq.

Our representatves should ask Griffin and Bush what they inted to do about 
this until they get a clear answer.
