It's bizarre - NASA is looking for a payload for that last Delta 2, their 
NEO team has told them they need an IR telescope near Venus, while Griffin 
suppresses their report and stands in contempt of Congress.

In the meantime, the debris stream from Comet Schwassmann-Wahcmann 3 is due 
back at the end of 2011, and will be very close to the Earth in 2022.

But then such an IR scope may also map a large number of really pieces of 
comets, leading to a fundamental change in the impact hazard estimate and in 
NASA's focus.
