Dear Edwin,
>my 1996 interviews with Peter Gorin, the translator of Mishin's
> diaries for Ross Perot, caused me to lose my long held job within the
intelligence community because Gorin was a KGB
>agent and EVEN THOUGH I DID NOT KNOW THAT, it violated rules of my
continued access to the most sensitive of >U.S. secrets. (emphasis
added)
>Without the accesses, I could no longer hold the job, my health
deteriorated and have been virtually unable to work since
>1998.
This is such a parallel to how the USG treated Qian Xuessen 45 years
earlier.
> To Anderman, Barbosa, Charles, Clark, Day, Gottschalk, Grahn,
Gregory, Hall, Harland, Hendrickx, Oberg, Portee,
>Pesavento, Siddiqi, Vick, Wade, Zak and others; many of you at one
time or another have questioned my bona fides,
>others knew.
As one of the 18 names mentioned here, let me please say that as a
foreign civilian academic, naive about the depths of paranoia &
witchhunting in secret services, I had of course no idea of the traumas
you were going through, or restrictions upon what you wrote. Living in
the apartheid police state all my adult life till 1994, most of us
regarded the USA as a democracy with freedom of speech as good as it
gets anywhere.
We appreciate what you've done to increase our knowledge. I think
that, overextended at my bread-&-butter job, I missed the reference to
where you published your "almost 100 pages".. If not, perhaps on-line
publication of what you've got is one solution. You could talk to Mark
Wade about that.
warm regards, Keith
