 He and Bill Clinton and Al Gore were personally deeply involved in the development of
concepts for Shuttle-Mir and the key Russian role in the ISS -- whatever the verdict of
history, this guy was big player, and a gutsy human being. All TOO human,
perhaps -- but so many bad things did NOT happen during the dangerous transition
period, I'm more and more willing to cut a little slack.
