[FPSPACE] Kotov pilot training in Russian Air Force?

A NASA video profile of Oleg Kotov
shown today, claimed that while at
the Kirov Air Force school where he got 
his medical degree, he also underwent 
pilot training -- and showed a photo of him 
in flight suit in front of a jet. Are there any
records of his hours of experience in any
aircraft, especially in command of any
aircraft -- or is it a misunderstanding?
